The fourth round of the Champions League is over and what a night it was for the two teams from Manchester.

Manchester City battered Shakhtar Donetsk at home and won the game with as much as 6-0 with a superb hattrick from the young Brazilian Gabriel Jesus. So in the last two games, Man City has scored twelve goals and conceded only one.

Manchester United on the other hand flu over to Turin to face one of the top candidates to win the Champions League, Juventus. In the first game united struggled to get a point at home against Juventus, with Juve dominating the game. It was pretty much the same story at the Juventus Stadium, a lot of chances where created by Juve, but United managed to pick the last straw. In the last five minutes of the game, Juan Mata scored a beautiful free-kick and on the next setpiece, Alex Sandro (Juve) managed to put the ball in their own net. Mourinho celebrated the late win out on the pitch like in the good old days. We at FanTeam think that the Manchester Derby couldn’t come in a more perfect time.

In the Premier League, Manchester City hasn’t really slowed down after their record-breaking campaign last season. They are nine points ahead of the “Red Devils”, but a derby is always a derby and anything can happen.

According to SkySports, United has won four games out of the last eight meetings, while City only has won two. The last Derby at The Etihad, Man United won in a breathtaking way with two goals from Pogba and one from smalling during the 2-3 win in April.

City hasn’t lost a game at home since that defeat against United and has now won eight out their last nine home games. Since that loss Manchester City has had 438 touches in the opposition box, that’s an average of 49 touches per game, more than any other team in the Premier League. Since the loss against United, they have also had 8 wins, 32 goals, 207 shots, 78 shots on target and 75% possession, stats no other team has managed to provide.

There is still hope for the United, they are the team in the Premier League that has won the most games at the Etihad in the last 15 years, with eight wins.
