This post explains the NBA Fantasy – Rules and scoring: Substitutes, Transfers and details about the scoring rules and point attribution.
On FanTeam we have two different types of tournaments in the basketball single gameday tournaments
Style of play
Five-a-Side: One Point Guard, one Shooting Guard, one Small Forward, one Power Forward, and one Center.

Nine-a-Side: Two Point Guards, two Shooting Guards, two Small Forwards, two Power Forwards, and one Center.
Substitutes are allowed in most of the tournaments.
Substitutes
Players are directly substituted with the players on the bench as long as the formation. This indicates that if you choose a center as a backup and one of your Point Guards doesn’t play, then no changes will be made.
When it comes to the rankings of the substitutions, if your first sub did not play, the system will move to your 2nd sub and try to change him.

Transfers
For multiple-gameweek tournaments (tournaments that overlap more than one round) there can be transfers allowed. The numbers of free transfers may then change, but in regular tournaments, you are allowed to make one transfer per gameweek. If you make more than one transfer you will be charged with 4points per transfer. Although if you make a private tournament it is made possible to choose the amount of free transfers.
Fanteam Point System
The points are delivered based on the player’s performance on the court, which can produce both positive and negative value. Your choice of captain will always get double points, and if for some reason your captain doesn’t play your vice-captain will receive double points.
- Point = +1
- Made 3pt. shot = +0.5 (so if a player makes 3pt. shot, he gets +3.5 points)
- Rebound = +1.25
- Assist = +1.5
- Steal = +2
- Block = +2
- Turnover = -0.5
- Double-Double = +1.5 (MAX 1 PER PLAYER: Points, Rebounds, Assists, Blocks, Steals)
- Triple-Double = +3 (MAX 1 PER PLAYER: Points, Rebounds, Assists, Blocks, Steals)
