Fantasy Football Tips for GW28
Get ready for another dose of Daily Fantasy Football! Gameweek 28 happens right here, right now, starting today at 20:45 CET. Another chance to go for the €25,000 prize pool in the €11 main event, or perhaps the sightly easier to win €5,000 One Bullet.
Four matches on Tuesday and six more on Wednesday gives us plenty of options for our fantasy team. The main event is this time a Late Swap tournament. The reasons for this choice are:
1) Because of the heavy schedule for Premier League players right now, the chance of rotation is bigger than usual and we want to avoid that many users find themselves with only 10 or even 9 starting players.
2) It is in effect only two starting times for PL this midweek, so making it Late Swap only require users to follow up on line-ups one extra time, compared to a regular tournament.
While this PL round seemed perfectly suited for Late Swap, it is not like Premier League main events from now on will be Late Swap. Most of the time, these fantasy sport events will not.
Aguero the best captain option?
Manchester City is the biggest favorite of the round, and most managers will probably pick their captain from the Blues. SERGIO AGUERO (15.4M) is in great form. In the last 10 matches he has scored 10 goals. If you check the “form” column, you will see that he has the highest form number of all players in the game, 9.2. It is possible that Pep Guardiola will rest Aguero at some point in this heavy match schedule, so it is nice that we have Late Swap and can switch Aguero out with someone else if he does not appear in the starting XI! His natural replacement, JESUS (11.8M) has a very attractive price, but he has a slight hamstring problem at the moment and may not be ready to start the match. Using RAHEEM STERLING (14.4M) as a striker is another option. If Aguero starts, he is the player that is most likely to get the most points in the round, but as we know anything can happen in football, and sometimes it can be smart to go in opposite direction of the masses. Both Sterling and Jesus are good alternatives, if they start the game. West Ham are actually in very good form, but if Manchester City play their A game, there is no question about who will win the game.
Two goalgetters and one underpriced playmaker
Just as we expect Manchester City to win with at least two goals, we think Arsenal could score a few goals as well. The opponent Bournemouth have been variable in their performances lately, and they are simply much better at home than away. While they have no losses in their last Premier League home matches, their last eight away matches in the league have been lost! The goal difference for those eight matches was 3-23! Number three at the top scorer list, PIERRE EMERICK AUBAMEYANG (13.6M) has slowed down lately, with only three goals in the last ten matches. It seems ALEXANDRE LACAZETTE (13.2M) is the top dog at the moment in Arsenal, but both look like very good candidates for this round.
There is another Arsenal player that is very interesting, MESUT ÖZIL (8.2M). He is on his way back to the starting XI, but manager Emery has said he cannot play every game, so it was no surprise he was only a sub in the last match. Getting a rest at the weekend, Özil should be ready to go in midweek. Fortunately, we will be able to check if he is playing, thanks to Late Swap! His price, 8.2M, surely means a lot of value if his does start. Although he has not scored in the last 15 matches, there are signs that his form is improving. In the 3-0 win over BATE, many people felt he was the best Arsenal player.
Time to put Liverpool in defense
There was a time when the best choices for Liverpool players always was the attackers. The situation seems to be the opposite now! While Salah & Co are struggling, the defence is still holding. They are letting in approximately half a goal on average in Premier League and are by far the tightest defense there. If they do not concede to Bayern Munchen or Manchester United, surely they should be able to keep Watford at bay? Interestingly, Watford had showed bad form, but came back with a vengeance against Cardiff and scored five times in what can only be described as the GERARD DEULOFEU (5.8M) show. However, it is very hard to see them doing anything like that at Anfield. JOEL MATIP (9.4M) is the cheapest Liverpool defender, and normally he would not offer much attacking potential, but we have seen him making runs into the opponents penalty box lately, so maybe he can get something extra. TRENT ALEXANDER-ARNOLD (11.2M) is the defender that is most likely to score. He plays very offensively on the right side. VIRGIL VAN DIJK (10.4M) is always an arial threat and should also be included.
