Midweek Monster – Value Picks and bookies Odds

There is no time to breath! It’s been not even 24hrs since Mo Salah finished GW23 with his beautiful last minute goal against United and we are already ahead of GW24, a midweeks gameday.

So now we are turning the WM (Weekly Monster) into the MM (Midweek Monster).

But first let’s take a closer look on what happened in GW23 and especially in FanTeam’s Weekly Monster tournament.

The weekend brought us many fabulous late or even stoppage time goals that changed the complete outcome.

The most surprising result should be Citys home draw against Crystal Palace with Agüeros late brace and an even later equalizer by Fernandinhos own goal. Nevertheless also Newcastles outstanding stoppage time home win over the Blues by Haydens 94th minute stunner was all against the odds.

And of course, as mentioned on top, Salahs 93rd minute run with a beautiful assist by keeper Alisson Becker.

The one who came out with the biggest profit on all these storys above is FanTeam user ‘TTriBL’ who bulldozed a 2609 participants field in victory, followed by ‘Jyllimyrski’ and ‘top’ on 2nd and 3rd place.

‘TTriBL’ earned 4177,79€ for his efforts, while ‘Jyllimyrski’ and ‘top’ still got a great piece of the cake with their winnings of 2616,74€ respectively 1907,17€.

‘TTriBL’s winning squad was a blast and looked like this:

He stacked a full 3man clean sheeted Liverpool defense with goal scoring Virgil van Dijk as a captain in front of Burnleys Nick Pope, who brought some nightmares to Jamie Vardy on his saved penalty.

In his midfield only Aston Villas Jack Grealish puts hisself on the scoreboard while up front he had goal scoring Chris Wood and of course Sergio Agüero, who saved the day for the citizens with a late brace and his goals 14&15 this season. In total ‘TTriBL’ generated 90.5 Fantasy points which means 8.2 Pts per player. Considering the all in all difficult and surprising gameday, this is a huge performance.

Anyway, let’s head on to midweeks GW24, think about some options and who to possibly watch out for. Of course, also midweek, FanTeam has another massive 50k€ pricepool to offer for a buy-in of only 20€. Be sure not to miss it out!

So, what could be the possible options to spend the 100M budget on FanTeam?

Goal Scoring odds

With Marcus Rashford being injured, Anthony Martial will be in responsibility to get United on the scoreboard more than ever.

Oddwise chance of scoring: 42%

Same goes for Heung Min Son of Tottenham. In the absence of Harry Kane he has to take responsibility.

Oddwise chance of scoring: 42%

The side of Leicester are going through some tougher times at the moment, with 3 losses in the last 5 games. Nevertheless, they are facing West Ham United at home and Jamie Vardy is most likely to celebrate again.

Oddwise chance of scoring: 60%

Clean sheets

In GW23 we only had 3 clean sheets with more or less surprising Norwich and Newcastle and of course Klopp’s Liverpool.

By the way, the reds have not conceded a goal for 7 EPL games in a row now.

Oddwise, the highest probability for clean sheets on this gameday are as followed:

United (vs Burnley) 51%

City (at Sheffield) 48%

Everton (vs Newcastle) 46%

Possible Value

Taking the players fantasy prices into consideration, some players will get you a bigger value than others. Here are 3 picks to watch out for:

City full back Joao Cancelo. With a 48% clean sheet possibility and a chance to maybe give an assist on the attack, his price of 8.8m could be worth it.

Norwichs goalkeeper Tim Krul. Sure, they are facing the Spurs in an away game but taking Mourinhos antifootball and the fact that the spurs haven’t scored for 3 in a row now into consideration, Krul’s 4.2m do not sound that bad in my opinion.

Last but not least Uniteds full back Ben Williams. The youngster costs 8.5m and has not only a high possibility of a clean sheet. If you watched him play lately, you can clearly see his drive towards the opponents goal. This makes him, especially against Burnley, a must have value pick.

Good luck!
