After nearly 3 long weeks the wait is finally over and heeeere we are again, back, with the special, the unique, the exciting and thrilling, the one and only weeeeeekly momomomonsteeeeeer on FanTeam (yep, just imagine I am Michael Buffer. That was a famous boxing announcer for the younger ones among us)!
Most of the teams should be well rested and I hope you are too. At least you should be, to get your piece of the 50.000€ pricepool cake.
So, read carefully and let’s get it on.
Even if it has been a while, let’s not forget to recap and congratulate the last WM winners.
Beating 2556 entries this time was user ‘Ins’ who smashed the field and took home 4.205,90€. He finished 1st with 105 Fantasy points, only one point ahead of the follow-ups ‘TTriBL’ and ‘LeBroHbKA’. On a sidenote: He even brought a second team in the 5th spot for another sweet 1.247,61€.
His squad, of course, had Mo Salah as a captain and Bobby Firmino with his 3 assists upfront. The Reds performance with the 4-0 home win against Southampton was once again pretty breathtaking. There was no other way to win the tournament without these choices.
He also counted on the stunning performance of Hugo Lloris, who showed some fabulous saves to hold the clean sheet against the dangerous City side.
Congratulations, ‘Ins’ and every other player who finished in the money.
Slowly but surely we are heading to the home straight. Here are the nine round 27 fixtures with the bookies winning, clean sheet and most likely goal scoring probabilities:
Burnley vs Bournemouth W: 47% / 28% CS: 41% / 29% G: Rodriguez (BUR) 34%
Crystal Palace vs Newcastle W: 53% / 23% CS: 49% / 29% G: Benteke (CRY) 30%
Sheffield vs Brighton W: 53% / 24% CS: 44% / 27% G: McBurnie (SHE) 36%
Southampton vs Aston Villa W: 61% / 20% CS: 37% / 17% G: Ings (SOU) 59%
Leicester vs Man City W: 23% / 59% CS: 17% / 33% G: Agüero (MCI) 54%
Man United vs Watford W: 63% / 17% CS: 45% / 20% G: Martial (MUN) 50%
Wolverhampton vs Norwich W: 67% / 15% CS: 49% / 18% G: Jimenez (WOL) 51%
Arsenal vs Everton W: 50% / 38% CS: 33% / 22% G: Aubameyang (ARS) 54%
Liverpool vs West Ham W: 85% / 7% CS: 56% / 8% G: Salah (LIV) 64%
As always here are three thoughts of mine for the upcoming gameday that maybe should be taken into consideration:
- With Crystal Palace and Newcastle two of the lowest scoring teams face each other. Considering the bookies clean sheet odds on Crystal Palace, their defenders are quiet cheap and could be huge value.
- The Leicester vs Man City game is a bit special. The league is literally done, the big champions league clash with Real Madrid is right ahead and all that matters. Will Peps team be at 100%? Will he rotate his squad? There are big questionmarks everywhere and I am not too sure if the expensive city players are that much of a value as they are on other days.
- Burnley is in a great shape. With 10 Points out of their last 5 PL matches (3W1D1L) they are facing a struggling Bournemouth side with in front of their own crowd. While Chris Wood is injured, Matej Vydra could be a cheap value option here. He is only 7.0m on FanTeam and after his stunning goal against Southampton last week, I am sure he will be on the coaches list.
So, take your chance on a big win for only 20€. Registration closes saturday 4PM.
