CS:GO Daily Monster – Wednesday on FanTeam
ESL One Road to Rio 13.05 Preview
After having only 4 games yesterday todays Road to Rio coverage reduces to only 3 games.
One CIS game and two EU games are ahead of is.
Other than last week there is a buyin of just 10,00€ and there is a guaranteed prize pool of 10,000€, with a potential of winning 1,500€ as the first place alone.
Both regions have arrived in the playoffs. The CIS game is a quarter final and the two EU games are upper bracket semi finals. While the loser of the CIS game will be eliminated the loser of the two other games will have a second chance in the lower bracket. Nonetheless every team will give their all today, I predict. All teams are playing for advancing in the tournament which will gain them more price money and RMA points, which they need in order to qualify for the major in autumn.
The matchups today will be the following:
As the tournament will be played in Pursuit Fashion, which means that cheap players receive more additional points. It would be wise not to disregard cheap players as some of them might give you the edge over other players due to their bonus points.
To make sure you can take advantage of this we looked out for the best value plays for under 11 million as usual. For the first time I will also write you down my favorite picks over 11 million in the last sentence, as these players have been the best captain plays for the last days.
To determine the most value we looked at the win percentage, the 0:2 percentage for a team and the over 2,5 maps percentage. While a 0:2 loss would be really bad a close win could be beneficial. We have also taken into account that upsets and close games are more likely to win the tournament overall.
On top of it we looked at the DraftKing projected points and projected points rank to find failures in the pricings of FanTeam.
Virtus Pro vs Nemiga
A CIS matchup that used to happen quite often in 2019 but never ended in favor of Nemiga. As well as the odds suggest I see Virtus Pro as the clear favorites here.
Looking at the players buster has to be the one to catch our attention first. With a great stat of 0,80 kills per round in this tournament and a price tag of 10,9 million he surely provides a lot of value. Other than that I don’t like anyone else too much, as qickert´s performance definitely gets hit by the great performance of buster.
Looking at the maps I definitely see a chance for Nemiga to pick up a map which would make their players a valid option.
lollipop21k is the most obvious one but also the best punt to take in my opinion. Although if you want to go really risky mds is a great opportunity for this as he actually delivers the second most kills per round of his team so far. With a price tag of 9,1 million he brings a lot of bonus points with him.
FaZe vs Ninjas in Pyjamas
FaZe seems to be the only team who is able to deliver constant great CS:GO in this tournament so far. Some say it’s because of motivation some other say online CS:GO is based more on individual skill and others might argue it’s just luck. We can’t tell from the outside but I think they will continue their great form today. I can definitely see them winning it in 2 here as well. As boring as I think it is, I have to tell you what you probably already knew, Coldzera and broky are the best value picks on the face side. Both have been phenomenal this tournament and they are the main reasons that FaZe has been performing so well this tournament.
To bring a little bit of excitement in I will also play rain in some teams. He always has the potential to win a map by himself as he has shown in their last game against c0ntact. In a 3 game slate it is unlikely to win with an obvious team so rain definitely is a punt that could prove his worth.
As I said with only 3 games being covered you have to take risks so I also consider NIP players. They are a very balanced team so anyone can go off in the end.
All in all I like plopski the most, especially as a captain play. He has the highest kills per round for them and also has the highest ceiling. On top of it nawwk has been surprising a lot of people this tournament. He is the second force on the list for me.
Astralis vs G2
The last matchup of the day heavily favors Astralis in terms of odds. Nonetheless I dont think this matchup is as an obvious affair as the odds suggest.
Luckily the G2 players are very cheap as prices are being made according to match odds as well. It is hard to find players of the caliber of KennyS and huNter at 9,6 and 9,5 million so I really like them on today’s slate. In their last matchup KennyS put up a huge carry performance. I can definitely see him doing that again as his AWPing style if really effective against deviced AWPing style in my opinion. Next to the two heavy hitters nexa is definitely also worth a shout as he has been performing really good this tournament but is priced at only 9 million.
Even though I love the value of G2 there is of course a big possibility of Astralis winning. For this scenario I really like Magisk who finally finds his form in online CS:GO. If he wouldn’t have been in his own individual slump he would for sure be priced above 11 million so I see a lot of value in him.
My favorite pick over 11 million for today: Jame
