Today’s schedule is similar to yesterdays. One CIS game and two EU games are part of today’s tournament.
As well as yesterday there is a buyin of just 10,00€ and there is a guaranteed prize pool of 10,000€, with a potential of winning 1,500€ as the first place alone.
In both regions the playoffs are full in play and today the loser of each game will be eliminated as well, other than yesterday. The CIS game is the second quarter final and the two EU games are lower bracket round 2 matches where the winner even has a chance to fight for winning it all in the end.
Hard Legion is looking for an enemy in the semi final on saturday. Winstrike and Syman will fight for that spot today.
On the EU side of things the two winner of the 2 matchups will match up against each other in the next lower bracket round.
In opposition to yesterday we have 3 close matchups ahead of us, at least odds wise. I am very much looking forward to see who can advance and gain more price money and RMA points, which the teams need in order to qualify for the major in autumn.
The matchups today will be the following:
As the tournament will be played in Pursuit Fashion, which means that cheap players receive more additional points. It would be wise not to disregard cheap players as some of them might give you the edge over other players due to their bonus points.
To make sure you can take advantage of this we looked out for the best value plays for under 11 million as usual. For the first time I will also write you down my favorite picks over 11 million in the last sentence, as these players have been the best captain plays for the last days.
To determine the most value we looked at the win percentage, the 0:2 percentage for a team and the over 2,5 maps percentage. While a 0:2 loss would be really bad a close win could be beneficial. We have also taken into account that upsets and close games are more likely to win the tournament overall.
On top of it we looked at the DraftKing projected points and projected points rank to find failures in the pricings of FanTeam.
Winstrike vs Syman
The Counter Strike day starts at 13:00 CET which might even be early for some UFC fans. The day couldn’t start any closer as the odds are totally even.
I definitely see this matchup being a 3 mapper but I can’t tell who takes it in the end. If I would have to decide I would go for Syman but I am not surprised about any result in this match. Following this assessment I will show you my favorite picks of both teams which can be used in either team stacks, matchup stacks or mixed up teams.
Winstrike is still alive in this tournament because of bondik, hobbit and El1an all top fragging in some occasions. First two are the two cheaper ones so I favor bondik and hobbit. While bondik will be a solid anchor for your team, hobbit has a higher ceiling and is a potential captain play.
Even though Mou has arrived the same price level as n0rb3r7 he still priced close under 11 million and is worth a shout. He has been finding some of his old form again this tournament and is made for close games which we could definitely see here.
As a high value play I love keoz. He doesn’t only have the highest average fantasy points this tournament for Syman so far, he also has the most average kills by a good margin. Priced 0,5 million lower as their two stars at 10,4 million he is one of the best value picks you will find today.
Vitality vs Ninjas in Pyjamas
For the second game in a row the odds are totally balanced. NIP has been extremely unlucky to not close out the game yesterday with one of the multiple chances they had. They showed a great game of Counter Strike and I favor them today against an inconstant Vitality.
Nonetheless same as for last game: I wouldn’t be surprised about any outcome and will give you picks from both teams which can be used in either team stacks, matchup stacks or mixed up teams.
It feels hard for me to find good value picks for Vitality as stats based no one beside ZywOo delivers a good result. If I look from the skillswise potential side everyone has huge potential and it’s basically a lottery who tops the scoreboard. To not chose just based on feelings I will choose apEX first. He has the second most fantasy points so far this tournament and even more important, he is the ingame leader and I noticed he puts himself in lurking positions quite often. This will lead to some easy kills from behind and some clutch situations.
Shox also deserves a shout, being priced at 10.3 million. Although he hasn’t gone off so far this tournament, he has the highest ceiling of all of the 4 cheap guys.
If you watched the insane game between FaZe and NIP yesterday I don’t need to tell you that plopski is a hell of a player. This man was popping heads left and right yesterday, and that against the strongest individual team of the world. After a slow start of the tournament he has been top fragging most of the last games and I know he is capable of doing it again today. Yesterday it was nawwk behind him on the scoreboard. Although I genuinely like him as a pick especially because he was under the radar some days ago I fear he might be known now and has more ownership percentage. Perhaps a player like twist, who also played well yesterday, could be more under the radar today and a tournament winning play as some risky plays will be needed in order to place in the to places with a unique team.
Heretics vs G2
In the last game the odds aren’t as balanced as in the 2 matches before but they still aren’t as clear as many would have predicted before the tournament started.
One of the reasons for that is the level Heretics surprisingly has been showing. But on the other hand G2 also isn’t playing like they did to the end of last year which you could clearly see against Astralis yesterday.
As Heretics is an expert for upsets I will just handle this game as if the odds were balanced so I will name players of both games again.
Personally I am really excited for the AWP battle between Maka and kennyS. As a huge kennyS fan I see him winning that by far but I am surely balanced here. Sadly just Maka is available in our price range and even with my prediction he has to be named and is a great value pick, with the numbers he has been putting up. Though you shouldn’t forget that he will one hell of a high ownership today so if you can see a 0:2 for G2 happening it might be a really solid play to fade him. Next to maka Nivera is the name to be mentioned. Although he has been struggling the past games I still like him more than the other 3 players and the Belgium surely has the potential, he just needs to use it.
On the G2 side I am ignoring yesterdays result as everyone was equally bad in the end.
Value wise Amanek definitely is a name to be mentioned. At 9,4 million and almost the second highest average fantasy points there shouldn’t be any doubt about his value and I am quite sure he will still have a really low ownership. Though I wouldn’t play him as captain as his ceiling isn’t that high. To name a captain play I also like nexa today. The in game leader has a way higher ceiling and can be the highest scoring in the end of a tournament. He won’t be the most captained player in the tournament, so why don’t give it a shot.
Good luck!
