CS:GO Dreamhack Masters 22.05. on FanTeam Preview

Today, another 4 teams join the Dreamhack Masters, as Group starts. All in all this is definitely my favorite group. Not only because BIG, the best German CS:GO team will be contributing, but also as it is the most balanced in my opinion. Especially with mousesports struggling heavily in their last tournament, everyone will we able to top the group but also finish on the last place. Next to the two teams I mentioned already, Mad Lions will also be a part in the Group, although a fourth danish team doesn’t sound too exciting as 3 just finished their group yesterday, they are indeed really exciting. The last time they played in a tournament was the Flashpoint 1 league, which they actually won. It wasn’t the best of all competitions, but they took down opponents like MIBR and Cloud9 down on their way to the trophy. Since the win they had a lot of time to practise even more and I am looking forward to see what they can do on the server.

Finishing the group is Complexity. The mix team has had some promising results in the near past as well. With k0nfig returning to his peak form again, they are a force to be reckoned with as well.

As always at the Dreamhack there are 3 matches in the schedule today. 2 EU matches, fighting to get a good start in group B, and 1 NA match, where MIBR tries to hold their chances of advancing the group alive.

Three days ago I wrote about CS:GO Fantasy more generally. Today, as well as yesterday  I will focus on my favorite player picks as you all should be familiar with CSGO Fantasy. If not go back to the article of the 20.05. and have a read.

The buying for today’s tournament is 10,00€ and there is a guaranteed prize pool of 10,000€, with nearly 1,500€ for the first place alone. Next to it there is also a 1€ tournament today.

As the CS:GO tournaments will be played in Pursuit Fashion, which means that cheap players receive more additional points,it would be wise not to disregard cheap players as some of them might give you the edge over other players due to their bonus points.

To make sure you can take advantage of this we focus on the best value plays in these articles.

Today’s matchups are the following:

Looking at the players these are my top picks for today. In the following I will explain why I like them the most.

mousesports vs Complexity

On paper, the first matchup should be an easy match for the mousesports guys. Though they have been struggling massively in the just finished Road to Rio and didn’t even make it out of the groups. Still we shouldn’t forget that Complexity also hasn’t made it out of the groups, as expected. All in all I still remember a much better showing of Complexity but that’s mainly due to both teams having different standards.

Mousesports had some time to fix their mistakes and karrigan is an in game leader who knows how to use his time. Considering the fire power mousesports have on top of it I see a clear 2:0 for mousesports coming.

On the mousesports side, frozen has been the better one of the two stars in the recent past, stats wise. That’s the only factor you can consider coming fresh in a tournament, as both frozen and ropz have similar skill level. Next to him I actually love woxic today. The turkish AWPer loves to get a sick performance right away into a tournament, and his confidence will be needed to grind their way back to the top.

On the enemy side I only like k0nfig. The dude has one of the highest kill potential in the whole CS:GO scene and if Complexity will go in an even battle against mousesports he will be heavily involved. If you are searching for 30 frags of an underdog he is you man today.

Mad Lions vs BIG

The second match of the day is quite even in my opinion at least. The odds suggest Mad Lions being the favorites here. Surely Mad Lions are coming off of a tournament win, but I dont think this should be rated that high as the competition wasnt high at all. They are still a team that is very young and doesn’t have much experience yet, which will surely make them lack consistency.

BIG on the other side has a great mixture of talent and experience. On paper this team could to a lot of damage.

Nonetheless anything could happen in this match so I will pick players from both teams either way.

Beginning with Mad Lions Bubzkji is the best pick today in my opinion. He is an upcoming star and and is putting star like numbers up already. He has been averaging almost 0,8 kills per round in the Flashpoint league and I expect him to do similar things today. At a price tag of flat 11 million he has a lot of potential to still be valuable.

Another interesting thing to note is, that Mad Lions made a line up change weil their run in Flashpoint. AcilioN replaced the legend Hunden. Considering he hasnt had any time to practice with the time before the games where he collected all his stats with his current team, he might be a great pick at 9,4 million as well as he now had time to to find his position in the team.

On the BIG team there is a really interesting situation, as their in game leader is also their best fragger. Then there is tiziaN, the support player who actually manages to perform insane as well sometimes. The new addition k1to isn’t performing up to his potential yet.

Left are my favorite two picks for today. SyrsoN, the AWPer is putting up great numbers since joining BIG consistently. On top of the consistency he also has a high ceiling as well. Overall he is priced the second highest at 10,2 million while having the best stats in the last 3 months for BIG.

Another name that has to be mentioned when having an online tournament is XANTARES. Many say he has the best aim in the whole CS GO aim and he especially performs good with it online. Being priced at 10,2 million as well I really like him today, for example in combination with SyrsoN.

Chaos vs MIBR

The last match of the day should be a clear one for MIBR. Even though Chaos managed to beat Liquid in a 2:1 series I dont rate them too high. I actually think it will be great opportunity to get some confidence for MIBR with their new player trk.

If you have some faith in Chaos definitely chose Xeppaa. He has shown that he can also perform insane at the highest level of CS GO as he destroyed Liquid which hasn’t been making a difference to his pricing yet.

On the MIBR side FalleN and kNg are your players to pick in my opinion. It has been quite some time now that FalleN didn’t have the most impact in a MIBR game, so make sure you watch out for him taking advantage of the lack of AWP skill on Chaos.

kNg has also been performing well in the recent past, but is especially his price what makes me like him. Being such an obvious favorite, one of the best fraggers but having a price of 10,5 million is a must own for me.

Good luck!
