CS:GO Dreamhack Masters 30.05. on FanTeam Preview

While the focus on FanTeam is on the Bundesliga today, I still want to give you some fast tips as it is the last day of the group stage today and every game matters. But don’t worry, I will hold myself short. Today there will be one EU group C, one group D and one NA group B match. I will explain which outcome would mean what for each team in the little game previews. If you are not familiar with fantasy CS:GO yet, go back to the article of the 20.05. and have a read, I explained the basics for CS:GO and fantasy in general there.

The buying for today’s tournament is 10,00€ and there is a guaranteed prize pool of 3,000€, with nearly 700€ for the first place alone. Next to it there is also a 1€ tournament today.

As the CS:GO tournaments will be played in Pursuit Fashion, which means that cheap players receive more additional points,it would be wise not to disregard cheap players as some of them might give you the edge over other players due to their bonus points.

To make sure you can take advantage of this we focus on the best value plays in these articles.

Today’s matchups are the following:

Looking at the players these are my top picks for today. In the following I will explain why I like them the most.

Ence vs NIP

The two scandinavian based teams are actually fighting of for their playoff spot. The winner will be out of this tournament and the winner will continue in the playoffs. This leads to the fact that both teams will give their all.  Both teams have been looking quite bad yesterday, but with NIP also heavily underperforming on the first day and just recently making a player change, it has to be Ence who is favored here, though the matchup could go to 3 maps.

As I said I will hold myself short today so we directly go to my player choices. On the Ence side Jamppi has been playing outstanding and he seems to develop into their new star player. At 10,6 million he is still cheaper than other star players and has huge potential to have a lot of value in the end of the tournament. Next to him allu is always a strong captain option. If you stack both these player you can’t do much wrong.

On the NIP side it is hard to read something into their first two games under their new leadership, but nawwk had a game yesterday you can’t ignore. He dropped 36 fraggs and they still lost the map. He is in an insane form and at 9,8 million you can’t go wrong here.

Next to him I would chose Plopski even though he is the most expensive player. Because if NIP wants to stand a chance Plopski has to perform close to his peak.

Godsent vs Spirit

The second game of the days was postponed earlier in the week because of internet problems. Let’s hope everything is fixed now and we get a great game. The scenario for it is set, as both  teams need to win in order to qualify for the playoffs. The loser will be out.

Talking about internet problems, that was also the reason why Spirit lost against FaZe. You could argue strongly that the would’ve 2:0ed FaZe without it. My actual point is that Spirit looked very strong this tournament, and by far stronger than Godsent. This leads to the fact that Godsent players are cheap. All 4 potential good players are priced quite balanced which definitely leads to value. Looking at the games they played before and after farlig joined, styko has to be named. He has really been stepping up his game and next to his consistency he also offered some carry performances in between. Next to him farlig seems to get into the team quite quickly. He was one of the only shining lights in their 2 loses. If they manage to win today I am sure he will be a big part of it.

On the other side there are many possibilities. Mir was the one suffering of internet issues, but still showed in the FaZe game that he can easily be the highest scoring player of a slate. Though he is also very expensive at 11 million. Looking at a cheaper option, magixx actually has the highest average score of the Spirit players, and you can also see how this affects their team performance in game. If he can carry on this form he can easily be a bargain at 9,8 million. If you need a third player for your stack, I love somedieyoung as well, as he also provides great stats for his price tag.

GenG vs Cloud9

The last match isn’t as important as the first two, as both teams are already qualified for the playoffs. Though the play for who finishes on place 2 and who on place 3. In other word they are playing for who is allowed to play against MIBR and who has to play against Liquid. I think we all know which game both teams want to play more, so they better give 100% today.

This game happened quite often in the last couple of months and it has been switching who has been on top after the games. Every team won here and there but also had to accept the loss sometimes. Overall GenG probably is the better team, which you can also find in the odds. Though, I actually favor Cloud9 today, as GenG hasn’t convinced me at all this tournament, and Cloud9 on the other side has been looking quite good.

No one on the GenG side has been stepping up which also makes it hard to find the right players to pick. I don’t want to tell you someone randomly so I won’t give you a players name for this game, as its totally random in my opinion. On the Cloud9 side it is way easier for me. Next to their star player floppy who always is a good bet, Sonic really has been stepping up this tournament, especially on the second AWP. Even though his numbers are good, I think his ownership wont be high as people think he is too expensive, which I don’t think. He also was the top fragger in their last game against GenG, which makes me like him even more.

Good luck!
