On Saturday, Fanteam will host the next major Bundesliga tournament.
Like every weekend, 50000€ are guaranteed, the winner gets 7500€ and the buy-in is only 20€ per team you send into the tournament.
But now without further words directly into the preview, have fun.
The tournament this Weekend will be played in Pursuit format. This means that there will be no budget problems, but at the end of the tournament you will receive bonus points the more budget you have left.
More precisely, there are 0.4 points for every 1 million in budget that is left at the end.
So it can be worthwhile if you attach special importance to value for your money, while building your teams.
As we can see, in this tournament for the 31th matchday of the Bundesliga there are 8 games with 16 teams, only the match Hoffenheim against Leipzig is not included, as it is already on Friday.
From 5 matches we can see the starting line-ups in time before the tournament starts, which can be a nice advantage.
Now let’s have a deeper look at all 16 teams of this tournament:
Dortmund and Munich are in lockstep the big favourites in this tournament on Fanteam.
Leverkusen and Wolfsburg follow with still well over 50% probability of winning.
4 other teams still have a 41%-47% probability of winning.
Below U Berlin the clear outsiders start, Gladbach with the same 12% probability of winning as Düsseldorf is a very rare sight, but they have to travel to Munich to the Allianz Arena.
Now it’s time to look at the players, and not only at the teams.
First of all we look at the defensive, then we look at the offensive.
Fanteam price means the average price for the expected line ups.
On the defensive, Munich only has a 34% chance of not conceding a goal. Dortmund with a strong 40%, directly behind Leverkusen with 39% and a super average price of 9.3M.
Wolfsburg is 1.2M cheaper than Munich, despite the identical probability.
In midfield there are again some interesting teams, especially Bremen I would like to mention here. In the low price segment Union Berlin could be interesting for under 6M average price and still almost 20%.
Now we come to the offensive.
Here Munich seems very fair from the price, which is pushed by the price of Gnabry, Perisic and Coman for example have much lower prices.
Dortmund seems to be too expensive compared to Munich.
In midfield it is again difficult to single out individual teams. Hertha looks strong with a 26% probability to score at least 3 goals and an average price of 10.3M.
Gladbach might be an interesting gamble at the bottom with only 6.7M as average price on Fanteam, but with a lot of risk of course.
Now i want to introduce you some interesting players for this tournament.
J. Pavlenka (Bremen / 7.9M) GK
Bremen has a very solid 27% chance of not conceding a goal and the price of Pavlenka seems very interesting at Fanteam.
Bremen in the last 5 matches 3 times without conceding a goal, also against Paderborn this could be possible and still Pavlenka will probably have some saves, which are worth 0.5 points each at Fanteam.
D. Brosinski (Mainz / 7.7M) DEF
Brosinski, the Mainz full-back, is my first choice here.
Mainz has a good 27% chance of not conceding a goal, Brosinski a great prize of only 7.7M at Fanteam and he can also score points in the offensive..
He has already scored 2 goals and 4 assists in this season for Mainz.
M. Mittelstädt (Hertha / 8.0M) DEF
The full-back of Hertha is my 2nd choice in the defense.
The media unanimously report that Mittelstädt is playing with Lukebakio in the game against Frankfurt as an offensive winger.
Since Mittelstädt is listed as a defender for Fanteam, it would of course be a great thing for us, similar to Skov.
Kicker is expecting this line-up:
Jarstein – Pekarik, Boyata, Torunarigha, Plattenhardt – Grujic, Skjelbred – Lukebakio, Darida, Mittelstädt – Ibisevic
L. Goretzka (Munich / 13.6M) MID
Same as Mittelstädt, Goretzka is a strategic choice for this matchday.
With Müller and Lewandowski suspended, Goretzka will probably take over the role of Müller behind the centre forward Gnabry and will have plenty of offensive situations.
Goretzka has also been convincing in less offensive roles this season and has scored 5 goals and 8 assists in 20 Bundesliga matches so far.
He will also build a good duo with I. Perisic (13.3M) or K. Coman (13.1M).
M. Thuram (Gladbach / 7.6M) FOR
Plea is suspended and therefore almost all focus in the offensive will be on Thuram.
Thuram has already scored 8 assists and 10 goals this season and for 7.6M he looks pretty interesting, especially in teams without Munich players.
Of course it is difficult to play in Munich, but without spectators it will be a bit easier and Munich conceded 3 goals in the last 2 matches, also in the second last Bundesliga home match against Frankfurt they conceded 2 goals, just 3 weeks ago.
An alternative or a good duo to Thuram could be L. Stindl (6.7M), who will probably play even more offensively without Plea.
Another extreme price tip could be J. Hofmann (5.7M), who will probably play on the “10”, behind Thuram and Stindl.
Good luck in the tournament. You can join here.
