Monster Preview for the German Midweek Monster 16.6

On Tuesday, Fanteam will host the next major Bundesliga tournament.

This time it will be a one day tournament, 20.000€ GTD and the buy-in is only 20€ per team you send into the tournament.

But now without further words directly into the preview, have fun.

The tournament this Weekend will be played in Pursuit format. This means that there will be no budget problems, but at the end of the tournament you will receive bonus points the more budget you have left.

More precisely, there are 0.4 points for every 1 million in budget that is left at the end.

So it can be worthwhile if you attach special importance to value for your money, while building your teams.

Only in one match we see the line-ups before the tournament starts, the other 3 matches are starting 2 hours later.

This can always be a small advantage if you want to take players from Gladbach or Wolfsburg, because there will be no unpleasant surprises.

Now let’s have a deeper look at all 8 teams of this tournament:

Not very surprisingly, Bayern is by far the biggest favourite this Tuesday, especially where Dortmund and Leipzig are not playing today.

Union rarely has such a high chance to win (58%), Wolfsburg rarely such a low one (27%).

Now it’s time to look at the players, and not only at the teams.

First of all we look at the defensive, then we look at the offensive.

Fanteam price means the average price for the expected line ups.

6 of the 8 teams have a solid 22% – 45% probability of not conceding a goal.

Even Wolfsburg and Paderborn do not seem to be without a chance to achieve this.

Only Bremen looks bad, which is no wonder if you have to play against Munich.

In terms of prices Hertha and Freiburg seem to be more interesting than Gladbach, Paderborn could be an absolute saving tip with risk with 5.2M as average price.

In the offensive Munich seems to value the high price, 57% is a very high probability to score at least 3 goals.

From the midfield with Hertha, Freiburg and Wolfsburg, Wolfsburg is perhaps the most interesting choice this Tuesday, but it’s very close.

Now i want to introduce you some interesting players for this tournament.

C. Günther (Freiburg / 7.5M) DEF

The left-back of Freiburg is my first choice here.

Freiburg not only has a solid chance of not conceding a goal.

Günther is also very inexpensive with 7.5M and a real weapon in the offensive.

Günther has already scored extremely strong 2 goals and 8 assists for Freiburg this season and all that as a defender.

To show how strong this is: even players like Kimmich (10), Gnabry (11) or Kostic (11) did not score that much more assists.

C. Strohdiek (Paderborn / 5.2M) DEF

For 5.2M I also have to mention a defender from Paderborn. I see a realistic chance that Paderborn will stay without conceding a goal at Union Berlin and because of the Pursuit format we always have to look for good value for our money.

And I definitely see that with Strohdiek, he can also be dangerous in the offensive, he has already scored 1 goal and 2 assists in this season so far.

M. Arnold (Wolfsburg / 8.6M) MID

Arnold is perhaps one of the most underrated players in the Bundesliga.

The game of Wolfsburg stands and falls on his performance and he is mostly strong on the offensive. This is proven by his 4 goals and 9 assists so far in this season.

Which is also not to be underestimated, where there are up to 5 possible changes per team since the Corona break: Arnold almost always plays 90 minutes. Only once he was substituted (2 minutes before the end against Bremen).

This brings extra points and also a higher probability, that Arnold will score in the offensive late in the match.

W. Weghorst (Wolfsburg / 9.4M) FOR

Weghorst completes my selection of players for today.

The reasons are not only his 14 goals so far in this season for Wolfsburg (the next one of Wolfsburg scored 6 goals).

Also in comparison with other strikers on this matchday he is a great choice for me in terms of price/performance:

Weghorst has the same probability to score a goal this Tuesday as Plea, but Plea costs 2.0M more.

Andersson hits 51%, but it costs 13.0M, 3.2M more than Weghorst.

Because of the Pursuit format, Weghorst would be my first choice here.
