A brilliant day of CS:GO lays ahead of us with 4 exciting matches, coming out of the Blast Showdown and the ESL Pro League Qualification. A tournament with ZywOo and s1mple in the slate is exciting in itself, so have a read and see how I think you can exploit that.
I personally really like the mix of teams and I am really looking forward to the tournament starting at 16:30 CET.
The buying for today’s tournament is 10,00€ and there is a guaranteed prize pool of 10,000€, with 2.000€ for the first place alone. Next to it there is also a 1€ tournament and a 200€ tournament for the highrollers today.
As the CS:GO tournaments will be played in Pursuit Fashion, which means that cheap players receive more additional points,it would be wise not to disregard cheap players as some of them might give you the edge over other players due to their bonus points.
To make sure you can take advantage of this we focus on the best value plays in these articles.
Today’s matchups are the following:
Looking at the players these are my top picks for today. In the following I will explain why I like them the most.
Natus Vincere vs Complexity 16:30 CET
The first match of the day has the CIS team NaVi facing off against an upcoming mix team. s1mple and electronic are both in a superb form and you can just wish good luck to their enemies if they continue like this. Though, as soon as they drop their performance by any means NaVi has big problems, as for example seen against G2 in last weeks Dreamhack tournament. For me it is clear cut that you have to pick s1mple and electronic if you want NaVi players, as if they don’t perform NaVi won’t win anyways. Discussing both players, I actually like electronic more today. He has been outperforming s1mple several times these last weeks and while many FanTeam players might think this is variance, electronic himself actually believes that he will be better than s1mple sooner than most of the viewers think. No one can say if this will be true and its just a guessing game, but he has a lot of talent for sure.
Complexity aren’t in their best form. They are struggling to close out games against much weaker teams and also haven’t looked to convincing against OG. Nonetheless, I really believe they have the ability to beat NaVi if their stars aren’t performing their usual level.
Looking at their players I think many still have in their memories how good k0nfig was in recent times, so I actually like the others more due to low ownage. The star blameF is the first that comes to my mind. At just 9,9 million he is offering 0,78 kills per round, but also just 0,54 deaths per round. Even though these insane stats are produced mostly against lower skilled teams, he is a great kill/death ratio player which is great for fantasy.
Next to him I love oBo. The guy is massively underrated and it feels like he is performing every game no matter the circumstances. He is their second best performing player in the last month and at 9,5 million he has to be considered in my opinion.
Vitality vs FaZe 20:00 CET
Coming up second is a game firepower is the only thing that has to come to everyone’s mind. The best player of 2019 ZywOo faces off against the strongest individual team FaZe.
The odds are even on this one and I can definitely understand why. Though, I am not really a fan of the CS:GO Vitality plays, as it almost feels like gambling which isn’t a consistent way so it will be really hard for them to stay on the top.
Looking at FaZes performance since Bymas joined their team, they actually won every game beside against BIG twice. If you are looking at their enemies, everyone was a more individual based team, while BIG is a really tactical team. Vitality on the other side is only based on individual skill, so I definitely favor FaZe in this one. I feel like every map that would be played here does not favor anyone, so we can look forward to a great BO3 where everyone can win with every result.
At a day where s1mple and ZywOo are in one slate the probabilities aren’t high that none of them is in the winning lineup, so he has to be mentioned here of course. Next to him RpK has been stepping up his game the last couple of weeks and actually is Vitality’s second best performer in the last month. Being priced at 9,5 million you definitely can’t go wrong with him. Though, be aware that ZywOo and RpK will definitely be the most owned Vitality combination so it might pay off to choose apEX instead of RpK.
Coming to the second contributor of this match I am not looking forward to suggest you anyone, as basically everyone has the potential to step up massively. People are seeing rain as their weak link, but well, he was a top 5 player of the world just years ago. As FaZe is really balanced since Bymas joined, I like the just named rain, as he is priced massively lower than his teammates at just 9,4 million. Next to him you have to mention NiKo here, as he is still the best performing player of FaZe since Bymas joined. Though, I don’t think I would play him as a captain today, as it is pretty unlikely that he will outperform ZywOo and s1mple, but also their enemies at way lower prices, which would for sure perform good if the two best players of the world can’t find success.
ForZe vs BIG 21:00 CET
The ESL Pro League Qualification match doesn’t seem to be interesting in the first place, as BIG don’t seem to be stoppable right now. They just lost against G2 once and got their revenge in a BO5 final with a map disadvantage later. Though, you can definitely see that in their prices as well. I am pretty sure the BIG players would only have a chance to be in the winning lineup if they manage to win 2:0 and every other game has the favorite winning, mostly in 3 maps. Sure, this is definitely possible, but there are a lot of variables that have to go right. I am backing up BIG in this one and I don’t think it will be close. BIG is also a very balanced team, especially against weaker opponents. I like TabseN and k1to the most here, as both often perform better against weaker oppositions.
If you believe ForZe has a chance here you should definitely stack some of them, as at their price tags they will have a great chance to be in the winning lineup if they manage to win. The problem here is, that they are very balanced as well with only xsepower stepping up a bit more often who himself isn’t as cheap as the others anymore. Stats wise FL1T should have the best value for money, being priced at just 9,3 million.
Liquid vs Furia
The last match of the day is what many would call the battle for North Americas CS:GO crown, though it happens in the lower bracket and the loser will be out of the tournament. Both teams lost surprisingly against MIBR and EG. One of the hearts will be broken after today, and I can’t tell who it is. Furia has had an easy time just days ago against Liquid by winning the final of Dreamhack Masters 3:0 (2:0) against them, though Liquid hasn’t been stepping up by any means right there. Furia though, has shown that they aren’t the best team under pressure, which got to them as Brazilian derby escalated quite hard due to unsportsmanship reproaches and 300k Brazilians watching on Gaules Brazilian CS:GO stream. Surprisingly Furia lost the battle, and they surely want to have a chance to revenge themselves so they will be extra motivated which lets me lean in favor of Furia. Comparing the odds to the player prices, Furia has more value in generell, so you should play them more in the end. Looking at the prices and the probable owanages I actually like yuurih at 10,7 and VINI at 8,9 million the most. Both have been performing quite well during their successful time. Though, the most people still choose kscerato over yuurih and arT over VINI.
On the Liquid side things are a bit easier for me. Elige has to be your captain choice if you are planning to use your captain in this match. He is performing like a star player should be, especially if they win. Next to him I really like Stewie2k, who seems like he changed completely in the last couple of weeks. Suddenly he often performs the second or third best of his team, while he was locked on last time a long time before.
