Preview for the €50K Main Event [€7.5K 1st Place]

This Saturday there will the next big tournament on Fanteam.com.

The Premier League Main Event in England is guaranteed to be €50,000 and the first place will win €7500.

Each team for this tournament will cost a buy in of only €20.

But now, after a short explanation of the Pursuit format, we go directly to the preview, have fun.

Pursuit

The €50K tournament this Saturday will be played in Pursuit format. This means that there will be no budget problems, but at the end of the tournament you will receive bonus points the more budget you have left.

More precisely, there are 0.4 points for every 1 million in budget that is left at the end.

So it can be worthwhile if you attach special importance to value for your money, while building your teams.

Overview

Weekly Monster Preview EPL GW33b

Of the total of 4 matches, we only see the starting formations of 2 matches before the tournament starts.

This can be a small disadvantage for the other two matches, but often we are protected by the Safety Net anyway.

But let’s take a closer look at the 8 teams in this tournament:

Weekly Monster Preview EPL GW33b 1

Manchester United is the big favourite in this tournament with a 83% probability of winning. Their opponents Bournemouth are therefore the biggest underdogs. But also Watford and Crystal Palace are with 10% and 16% only with small chances to win against Chelsea and Leicester.

Wolves – Arsenal is more or less balanced.

Now we look at the defense and the offense of all 8 teams today.

Fanteam price means the average price for the expected line ups.

Defensive

Manchester, Leicester and Chelsea have a high clean sheet probability starting from 44% to 57%.

Leicester is my absolute favorite with 46% and an average price on Fanteam of only 9.0M. Goalkeeper Schmeichel is also very interesting with 9.3M.

Also Wolves, Arsenal and Crystal Palace have arguments for themselves and for their respective clean sheet probabilities they are cheap on average.

Offensive

In the offensive the average prices are rather balanced. I don’t want to highlight a single team here, because the average prices on Fanteam are already very much based on the probability that a team will score at least 3 goals.

Players to watch

Now i want to introduce you some interesting players for this tournament.

R. Patricio (Wolves / 7.9M) GK

For only 7.9M Patricio is my first choice as a goalkeeper here. Patricio is one of the best goalkeepers in the league and the Wolves have a very solid CS probability of 32%, too.

The team is very strong on defense anyway, so they have only conceded 34 goals in 32 matches this season.

Nevertheless, Patricio will certainly get a few shots onto his goal against Arsenal, every shot he saves will earn us additional 0.5 points on Fanteam.

My second choice as a goalkeeper would be K. Schmeichel (9.3M), but I don’t think he’ll be that busy against Crystal Palace, so I prefer Patricio.

B. Chilwell (Leicester / 9.7M) DEF

I think the left-back from Leicester is a very good choice for Fanteam this weekend.

Not only does Leicester have a very high probability of almost 50% on a clean sheet, but Chilwell is often dangerous at the offense, too.

So he has already scored 3 goals and 3 assists this season and at home against Crystal Palace he will show up in the offensive pretty often for sure, too.

Additionally Chilwell is also a very fair defender and has only seen 2 yellow cards this season so far.

C. Pulisic (Chelsea / 13.5M) MID

I think Pulisic is a very good choice on Fanteam this weekend for the offensive.

13.5M may seem like a rather expensive price on Fanteam for now, but you get a lot for it.

On the one hand Chelsea with 36% has a pretty high probability to score at least 3 goals, on the other hand Pulisic is partly the most dominant player in the offensive.

Because he is listed in midfield on Fanteam he brings us even more advantages.

In the first match after the corona break he was substituted and scored directly, the following two matches he scored another goal and what is also important for Fanteam: he played both matches for 90 minutes each. This earns an extra point on Fanteam, which can be very valuable in the end, where a coach may substitute up to 5 times per match.
