Let’s jump straight into the Fantasy Preview La Liga GW38. This Sunday there is the big final in the Spanish league with the last matchday.
That’s why Fanteam is holding a huge tournament with a guaranteed prize pool of €10,000.
The stake for each team in this tournament is only €15.
But now, after a short explanation of the Pursuit format, we go directly to the preview, have fun.
What is Pursuit?
The €10K tournament this Sunday will again be played in Pursuit format. This means that there will be no budget problems, but at the end of the tournament you will receive bonus points the more budget you have left.
More precisely, there are 0.4 points for every 1 million in budget that is left at the end.
So it can be worthwhile if you attach special importance to value for your money, while building your teams.
That’s why I love Pursuit! Interview with German DFS-Player Simmmen
La Liga Finale Preview GW 38 Overview
But let’s take a closer look at the 18 teams in this tournament:

La Liga Finale Preview: The Odds
On this last matchday in Spain there is no really clear favourite.
Celta Vigo is still the biggest favourite with 57%, closely followed by Getafe, Osasuna and Sevilla.
Accordingly, there is no heavy underdog, even Espanyol still has 17% chance of winning, Levante 19% and otherwise all other teams over 20%.
Now we look at the defense and the offense of all 14 teams for this Thursday.
Fanteam price means the average price for the expected line ups.
The best Defense on this Sunday
On the defensive there are some interesting points to mention for this Sunday.
Among the goalkeepers, I. Villar (6.1M) from Celta Vigo is the one who stands out.
Celta Vigo has the highest clean sheet probability and the goalkeeper costs only 6.1M, it just doesn’t get any better.
Also very strong is O. Alázabal (3.7M) from the opponent of Celta Vigo, Espanyol Barcelona.
3.7M is simply an unbeatable price and even if he doesn’t manage to have a clean sheet in the end, he will still get a few shots on goal and every saved shot will bring an additional 0.5 points to Fanteam.
In defence I would vote for those of Atletico Madrid and Granada to be the best value for money, with 38% and 34% CS probability respectively, and an average price of only 6.8M on Fanteam.
In addition to them, Sociedad is a real bang with only 4.9M on average and a strong 24% probability for a CS.
The best Offensive
In the offensive there is rather little worth mentioning.
Osasuna is with 25% probability to score at least 3 goals and with an average price of 9.0M for me the best choice besides Leganes, who still have a solid probability of 16% and a very cheap average price of 5.7M.
Players to watch
Now i want to introduce you some interesting players for this tournament.
I. Villar (Celta / 6.1M) GK
I already mentioned Villar in an upper section, but here it must be again, of course.
6.1M for a goalkeeper from a club with a CS probability of 41%, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like that before.
The prize is partly due to the injury of the regular goalkeeper Blanco, but of course you have to use this to your advantage.
The alternative is O. Olázabal (3.7M) from Espanyol, whose prize is also that low due to the injured regular goalkeeper D. López.
J. Giménez (Atletico Madrid / 6.0M) DEF
Atletico Madrid has a very high 38% probability for a clean sheet and that’s why 6.0M is simply an outstanding price for the central defender Gimenez.
Another advantage of him is that he is a very fair player. In 1741 minutes of play this season he only saw 2 yellow cards.
In general, every defender of Atletico Madrid is probably interesting on this last match day and you have to see how the starting line-up looks like at the end.
D. Llorente (Sociedad / 4.5M) DEF
Sociedad has a solid 24% chance for a clean sheet, which makes Llorente an extremely good choice for me, and the pursuit format allows us to collect a lot of bonus points.
The central defender has also already scored 1 goal this season and prepared 2 more goals.
Same as with Atletico Madrid, the whole defence of Sociedad is probably interesting and you have to see what the starting line-up will be like at the end to make your final choices.
R. Torres (Osasuna / 10.5M) MID
No team has a higher probability to score at least 3 goals in this tournament than Osasuna.
Therefore my choice is the heart in the offensive at Osasuna.
Torres has already scored 7 goals for Osasuna this season. In addition he has also scored 7 assists and therefore the most at Osasuna.
For us it is a huge advantage that Torres is listed in the midfield at Fanteam, because we get valuable extra points if Torres scores a goal or if Osasuna does not concede a goal
