NBA Daily Fantasy Preview 01/08
We will present important picks for every slate here in our blog to help you choose your team. Don´t forget to check your standings in the NBA Leaderboard after every contest – are you able to compete with the best?
As always , before we dive in to our suggestions for tonight’s slate , we;’ll take a look at yesterday’s one.
anthony1887 was the big winner , putting in his pocket a little over 2k euros !
The key was his 3 10% players , White , Covington and House , cheap options that allowed him to roster Harden and Porzingis that went crazy yesterday. But anytime you can roster 3 players that cost 22.8m combined and return 126 points ( x5.5 value ) and are owned just 10% , then your are going to win a lot of money.
Players to watch
5 games for tonight’s 20K Slate , so let’ get to our suggestions immediately.
Check the NBA Fantasy Strategy Guide if you are new to the game.
Ben Simmons – 76ers – 11.5m
According to every report that i could find , Simmons will start playing at the Power Forward position. This , in theory at least , would be great for his fantasy production , because it puts him closer to the basket , so makes it more likely to get rebounds and to score easier. I like it as an idea ,i think it will be a succesful one and i am willing to pay the 11.5m to find out if i am right or wrong !
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander – Thunder – 9.9m
The Thunder rely a lot on their 3 guard trio of Paul/SGA/Schroder and i like all 3 of them for tonight but if i had to choose someone that would be SGA. I think he has the best chance to score big tonight and i like the pricetag.
TJ McConnell – Pacers – 6.1m
The Pacers have a lot of injuries , so that creates a lot of opportunities and value for us. With Brongdon and Oladipo questionable , McConnell and Aaron Holiday come in play. Whoever one of those two get the start i will be rostering in a lot of my teams.
Reggie Jackson – Clippers – 5.8m
Jackson had 22 fantasy points in 35 minutes against the Lakers . Tonight , he plays against the Pelicans , a team that does not play a lot of defense , the game has the highest points total in the Fanteam Sportsbook , so i am gonna go right back at him , hoping that we at least get 30 points .
Donovan Mitchell – Jazz – 12.1m
Most expensive shooting guard by almost 4m and for a good reason. He is a terrific scorer, gives a lot of assists and the second best scorer on his team is out. I cannot see how we can avoid him , not only tonight but throughout the season.
Shake Milton – 76ers – 7.9m
I think Levert will be in play for the whole restart. He is the best player for the Nets and as long as they are playing for the playoffs , he will be their go to guy.
Josh Hart – Pelicans – 6.4m
JJ Redick got hot against the Jazz , so he got more minutes then Hart but now his price is up ( 7.1m ) and Hart dropped to 6.4m , so i am gonna go with him. Fast paced game , lot’s of points to go around and he will not be facing the top defenders of the Clippers squad.
Paul George – Clippers – 12.3m
I will not hold it against you if you choose Leonard over George but at 1.8m less you will get more or less the same production from George. He looks to be 100% healthy and that he has a hunger to play. He will be in a lot of my lineups tonight.
Jimmy Butler – Heat – 11.5m
Butler will give us production from a lot of categories , not just points and that is what i like in him. He is going to be facing a Nuggets squad that has a lot of injuries , especially in his position , so the game sets up perfectly for him to have a great night.
TJ Warren – Pacers – 9.5m
With Sabonis out , the Pacers will have to paly Warren at the 4 also , so that means more minutes for him . He has around 0.9 fantasy points per minute , which is not something special but with a lot of people out or questionable from the Pacers , this looks like a very good option with high upside.
Jerami Grant – Nuggets – 6.7m
As we said before , Nuggets will have a lot of players injured , so that will open up a lot of playing time. Grant will be one of the beneficiaries of that and he should be able to give us 30+ points.
Antony Davis – Lakers – 14.9m
I will chose Davis over LeBron again tonight , although i beleive they will be very close to fantasy production. Keep in mind that the Lakers are a lock for the no 1 position in the West , so maybe they will start limiting the time of their 2 superstars.
Michael Porter Jr. – Nuggets – 5.1m
Porter Jr. will not start but he will be the primary offensive threat of the bench for a deplited Nuggets squad. He was not on a good run in the last games before the break but he has proven to be more then capable of scoring big fantasy points . My biggest concern is that the Heat are a very good defensive squad so that might limit him a bit.
Nikola Jokic – Nuggets – 13.5m
You got all the way down to the Center position so you must know it by now. Nuggets have a lot of injuries. Jokic is their best player . Also he got thinner during the break ( probably the only one in the entire plantet ! ). Facing a good defense but he is the one and close to the only option for the Nuggets.
Bam Adebayo – Heat – 11.7m
I would not play Jokic and Adebayo in the same lineup but i will have them both in my players pool. Adebayo is a triple double threat , the offense of the Heat goes through him in the high post and he has 1.21 fantasy points per minute in his last 10 games !
Myles Turner – Pacers – 9.8m
With Sabonis out of the tournament , Turner’s value just went up. The biggest problem this year , in comparison to the previous years , was his rebounding was down. That was because he was playing next to Sabonis and Sabonis took alot of rebounds. With him out , Turner will get a lot more of these extra points and i love him for tonight.
Bol Bol – Nuggets – 5m
This is a very risky pick but if all the players that are questionable for the Nuggets , end up not playing , then Bol Bol will have to. Also he is not a C he plays SF , gets points , rebounds, blocks and steals . He has not played an official NBA game yet but during the 3 friendly games in Orlando he had 30.3 fantasy points in 29.3 minutes. The Nuggets game is the first on the slate so we will now in time if he is a value pick or not.
