How to use free Tickets (User question)

A newcomer asked us the following question on how to find and use free tickets. In other words, he was not able to find the tournament he could play for free.

“I’m new to Fanteam and keep receiving tickets to participate for free in tournaments where I can see a ticket icon. I’ve looked in the lobby but can’t seem to find anything that lets me participate or that seemingly has a ticket icon. Can anyone point me in the right direction?”

The idea for this post was born. Thank you for sharing with us!

What is a Ticket?

First of all, Tickets are free entries you receive or can win for our biggest tournaments. Owning a ticket for a tournament is the same as having the buy-in for it. You can earn tickets by two ways:

  • Promotion & bonuses
  • Satellites / Qualifiers

What is a Satellite/ Qualifier?

Satellites or qualifiers are special tournaments, where you can enter with a low buy-in for a chance to win a ticket to the target tournament. For example, if you want to earn your spot for our Fantasy Premier League Cash Game – 1 Million Euro Gtd. which has a buy-in of 25€, you can try to compete in one of the satellites to it.

You can play in a satellite with as little as 1€, which gives one ticket for every 25 entrants. Similarly, higher buy-in levels of qualifiers improve that ratio. For instance, a €5 buy-in gives tickets for every 5 starters.

How can you find Satellites?

There are many fantasy tournaments in the Fanteam Lobby. You can spot the Satellites easily if you look for these signs:

  • The tournament has “Satellite” in its title, e.g. NHL Satellite to €1M Fantasy PL Season 20/21 [6 seats GTD]
  • The Satellite tells you, for which tournament you can qualify, e.g. NBA Satellite to €1M Fantasy PL Season 20/21 [10 seats GTD]
  • At the end of the tournament description you find how many seats are guaranteed, e.g. [20 seats GTD]

This means that if 250 teams enter the satellite, you need to finish among the top 20 to earn a ticket.
In these contests, it doesn’t matter if you finish 1st or 20th, as long as you are in one of the paid spots.

Therefore, adjust your strategy accordingly and get the opportunity to win big without committing much of your bankroll.
