UCL Fantasy Top Picks ManCity vs Lyon: On this Saturday the Champions League continues with the fourth and final match of the quarter finals 2019/2020: Manchester City – Lyon
Fanteam again has a huge tournament to offer, with a guaranteed prize pool of 25.000€.
The buy-in costs only 20€ per team and the winner will receive an incredible 4.000€.
But now, after a short explanation about Pursuit, we’ll go straight to the preview:
What is Pursuit?
The 25K tournament this Saturday will again be played in Pursuit format. This means that there will be no budget problems, but at the end of the tournament you will receive bonus points the more budget you have left.
More precisely, there are 0.4 points for every 1 million in budget that is left at the end.
So it can be worthwhile if you attach special importance to value for your money, while building your teams.
UCL Fantasy Top Picks ManCity vs Lyon : The Odds
Manchester City is the huge favourite in this last quarter final of the Champions League.
81% probability of winning in a quarter final on neutral ground is already a statement, 95% to score probability as well.
Lyon only scores a goal in 51% of the cases and only wins 7/100 matches here against Manchester City
In defense Lyon only has a 5% probability for a clean sheet, the average price of players on Fanteam is very low, but it also means that in 19 of 20 games against Manchester City Lyon will not get important CS points for defense.
On offense Manchester City has an extremely high probability of 53% to score at least 3 goals.
Lyon here even with only 4% probability.
UCL Fantasy Players to watch
The most obvious pick at Manchester City would of course be R. Sterling (14.6M), as he has the highest to score probability today (50%, see table below) and is listed in midfield on Fanteam.
R. Mahrez – Manchester City – 13.4M – MID
But that is also the case for R. Mahrez and I see some advantages over Sterling:
He is 1.2M cheaper and that means 0.48 bonus points due to the Pursuit format.
Mahrez also has a high to score probability of 38%, at to assist he is even clearly ahead of Sterling with 33% compared to 25% (see below).
A third important point is ownership, i.e. how often people pick a player for their team in a Fanteam tournament.
Tonight Sterling will probably be much higher owned than Mahrez, especially in the question of who is captain of the team, as the captain earns x2 the points.
This means that with Mahrez as the captain your chance of building a unique team is much higher, than with Sterling as the captain.
Best goal & assist scorers
