NHL Daily Showdown Preview 20/08 with the best players to watch!
Yesterday we saw 2 series closing out, with the Lightning winning against Columbus and the Bruins taking down the Hurricanes. That leaves us with 2 games only on today’s slate, with the Islanders and the Stars being one win away from closing out their series.
NHL Daily Showdown Preview 20/08
Firstly, we will present important picks for every slate here in our blog to help you choose your team.
Players to watch
Let’s dive into the NHL Daily Showdown Preview 20/08. Firstly, let me start by saying that you need to be aware of the news close to the start of the games because we still do not know the line ups and starting Goalies.
In addition, check the NHL Fantasy Strategy Guide if you are new to the game.
Cam Talbot – Flames – 9.3m
This series has seen all different kinds of goalscoring results, with 2 games ending in 5-4 and then we had games ending 2-0 or 2-1. Since we are talking about a potential elimination game, I expect it to be more lower-scoring, but with enough shots on goal to make the difference. On the other hand, you can go to Khudobin, depending on how you think this game will end and, of course, depending on your stacks.
Braden Holtby – Capitals – 8.4m
If you are going with the expensive stack of Capitals 1, then it makes sense to correlate it with their Goalie, because you are hoping for a Capital win.
John Klingberg – Stars – 10.3m
He is one of my favorite plays, not only as a defender but on the entire slate. He doesn’t come cheap but with 8.5 points average in the last 5 games and 10.75 in the most recent one, he one of the better chances you are going to have on this slate.
Devon Toews – Islanders – 8.7m
Now, the Islanders are not known for their scoring, as we have said multiple times here on the NHL Daily Previews but for their defense and they are showing it in this series, keeping the Capitals to 2 goals in each game. Toews is a major part of that defense and he is in the 1 power-play line, which gives him an excellent opportunity to score offensive points.
Alex Ovechkin – Capitals – 13.6m
Ovechkin is expensive but in such a small slate, we just cannot avoid him, especially if you are going to draft multiple teams, because he is Ovechkin and can go off at any time.
Tyler Seguin – Stars – 11m
I keep talking about Seguin on the NHL Daily Previews and he keeps on delivering. Especially today, I think we will have multiple opportunities to give us more than 1 goal.
Johnny Gaudreau – Flames – 10.8m
Speaking of people I talk about a lot on the NHL Daily Previews, Gaudreau keeps going on and off in this series. Today, if you believe in these things, it’s his on day, so I will roster him.
Mathew Barzal – Islanders – 9.9m
Barzal has 3 goals and 3 assists in his last 5 games and is at a very good price if you want to use him as an one-off or just stack him in a low priced Islanders stack.
