Players to watch
Let’s dive into the NHL Daily Showdown Preview 21/08. Firstly, let me start by saying that you need to be aware of the news close to the start of the games because we still do not know the line ups and starting Goalies.
In addition, check the NHL Fantasy Strategy Guide if you are new to the game.
Carter Hart – Flyers – 8.2m
He has an up and down series, scoring 7.4/0.4/11.1/12.8/1.6 points in the 5 games of the series. As you can understand, when you get him right he will give you a lot of points. My gut feeling says that tonight is going to be a good night for him.
Jake Allen – Blues – 8.2m
Allen has – like Hart – an up and down series, scoring 7.8/6.4/0.7 points in each of the games he played. If we get him on his good night, we can get a lot of points from him and I am hoping that tonight it is one of those nights.
Alex Pietrangelo – Blues – 11.4m
The minutes are there, the offensive opportunities are there and – more often than not – the points are there also. He is expensive but he is worth it.
Alexander Edler – Canucks – 10.2m
Keep an eye out because Edler might not play, although he is listed as probable as of now. So, if he plays, I like him at this price, because he can give us decent value with the occasional offensive output.
J.T. Miller – Canucks – 11.7m
He is the highest priced forward on the slate and for a reason, averaging 7.8 points and having 6 straight games with 5+ points. I do not expect that streak to end tonight.
Elias Pettersson – Canucks – 11.2m
Canucks 1st line is one of my favorite stacks tonight but I would use either Miller or Pettersson as a one-off. With 7.1 points per game in the bubble and a high scoring game expected I love them both.
Ryan O’Reilly – Blues – 10.7m
If the Blues want to survive and pull out a victory against the Canucks, they will need a strong performance from O’Reilly and to be honest, he is one of the few Blues that are up to the task.
Flyers Power Play 1
Giroux – Couturier – Voracek – Farabee
The Flyers are facing one of the worst penalty-killing teams this year and I like their chances and correlations with the first and second lines.
Blues Line 1
Jaden Schwartz – Ryan O’Reilly – David Perron
A cheaper alternative to the Canucks Line 1 but again a good way to get exposure in this game.
Canucks Line 1
Elias Pettersson – JT Miller – Brock Boeser
They have been excellent in this series and in they are averaging 18.9 points per game combined. I cannot see how it will change in this game.
