NBA Playoffs Daily Showdown: Friday 04/09 with the best players to watch!
Well this Celtics vs Raptors series is turning out to be very exciting, with all the games going down to the wire. Let’s see if tonight’s game will be the same.
NBA Playoffs Daily Showdown: Friday 04/09
We will present important picks for every slate here in our blog to help you choose your team but firstly we will review yesterday’s slate and the winning lineup.
And the winner was …
Diddy! He took a risk and rostered 3 Celtics guards in one team and he chose to stack the game also but the best choice he made, was drafting Anunoby and making him VC, separating Diddy from most of the field. Congratulations on a job well done.
Players to watch
It is time now to dive into the NBA Playoffs Daily Showdown: Friday 04/09 preview. As this would be the case going forward since there are only 2 games on the slate, it is in a pursuit format and we have to select 5 players and also a Captain and a Vice-Captain.
This, adds another strategic layer to the game, since not only we have to select the players that will get the most points but also the ones that they can give us pursuit points as well.
High Priced (12.0m-17.0m)
In addition, check the NBA Fantasy Strategy Guide if you are new to the game.
Giannis Antetokounmpo – Bucks – 16.6m
Today’s slate is full of studs, with Giannis, Harden, LeBron, and AD in it. Out of all of them, my first pay up choice would be Giannis, mainly because it is the 1st game of the Lakers-Rockets series and we do not know yet what to expect out of those teams.
But with the Bucks down 2 games to the Heat, we know that they will need to win and that they will need their best player to step up.
The encouraging sign was that Giannis managed to take 18 shots in the last game, 6 more than the 1st one. This, to me, shows that the Bucks find a way to give the ball more to him, in good spots for him to score and I expect that this will be the standard going forward.
He projects to have the highest fantasy points on the slate, he will play 38+ minutes, in a must win game for the Bucks.
Anthony Davis – Lakers – 14.9m
Now, as I have said above, I will try to limit my exposure to the rest of the high priced players but if I had to choose one, I would go with AD.
Both him and Lebron project to have close to 55 points, which is their season average and their average against the Rockets.
Since this is the case, I would go with the cheaper option, in order to save some salary but again, I am afraid of this game, since we do not know how the teams will show up and there is a possibility of a blowout, since the Rockets are tired after a 4-3 series against the Thunder.
Mid Priced (8.0m-11.9m)
Khris Middleton – Bucks – 11.6m
After a rough start in the bubble, Middleton has 5 straight games of 38+ points. In these games he is averaging 22 points on 17 shots per game, along with 6.5 rebounds and 6 assists.
It is clear the Bucks start to go to their top guys for production and I will keep going to them, and Middleton is their number 2.
His minutes are safe, the production is there and we are talking about an important game, so all the right circumstances for us to roster him tonight.
Goran Dragic – Heat – 11.1m
Dragic is playing extremely well in the bubble , averaging 21 points , 4.6 rebounds and 5.2 assists.
More importantly for us, he is averaging 38 fantasy points per game, almost 10 more than what he averaged in the regular season.
He has 40+ points in 3 out of the 4 games that he played against the Bucks this season and in both of the playoff games, so he is a good choice for tonight.
Brook Lopez – Bucks – 8.2m
Lopez is a safe player to draft at this price in my opinion. He is averaging 30 points in the Bubble and has 29.1 against the Heat, getting 10 shots per game and almost 8 rebounds. His floor is 25 points and the ceiling close to 35 but at this price, I will take it.
Value Plays (4.3m-7.9m)
Duncan Robinson – Heat – 6.7m
Robinson is getting 25 minutes per game and has on average 20 fantasy points. He is my preferred choice over Iguodala, mainly because he is a streaky shooter and we can get him on a night where his shot if falling and he can go for 35+ points.
Dwight Howard – Lakers – 5.6m
I will have quite a few secondary Lakers players on my teams tonight but the one that is standing out to me, at least for now, is Howard.
He is playing 20+ minutes in the bubble and against the Rockets this year he is averaging 1.3 fantasy points per minute.
With the Lakers trying to play as tall as they can against the Rockets, Howard will be one of their main players of the bench and at this price, I am willing to take a chance on him.
