FanTeam Weekly Monster – Gameweek 20 Tips

Several of you have requested some regular articles to cover our Weekly Monster Games. As usual, when you ask, FanTeam delivers. To get the most out of this article you need to read our Key Concepts.

Weekly Monster Gameweek 20 – Fixtures

Brighton v FULHAM

Fulham have shown some real defensive solidarity lately and Brighton can struggle to score goals, the reverse fixture between the two sides a few weeks ago ended 0-0.

When deciding on whether to go for the defenders or goalkeeper I will often be steered by who is the lowest in price. However, in FanTeam the Goalkeeper gets 0.5 points per save and Areola averages 3.94 per game, which is the equivalent to almost 2 points. If they get a CSthen you’re looking at a 7-8 point return from a cheap Goalkeeper and for that reason I think he’s worth the premium.

Weekly Monster Gameweek 20 – Attacking Options

First of all, I earmark the fixtures I think will result in the most goals and then I consider which players are most likely to combine.

Newcastle v LEEDS

Newcastle look like they’re leaking goals at the moment and Leeds are going to put them under intense pressure. Bamford is the most likely to score and he’s on penalties now. The assists are spread throughout the side, but Dallas and Raphinha tend to combine well down the right. Investing in at least two of the three could yield some reasonable points, if you feel bullish about the fixture.

MANCHESTER UNITED v Sheffield United

These two seem telepathic at times. Rashfordwas rested against Fulham and should be raring to go in this fixture, especially after recording a brace against them a few weeks ago. Fernandesis the penalty taker and we all know how many penalties Manchester United get, furthermore he’s been involved in 62% of the goals scored in their last six games and is their talisman. If you think United are going to score, then this is the most likely pairing to combine.

However, I would keep an eye on who plays against Liverpool in the FA Cup game and be conscious that Pogba has started to play on the left in the easier games, which makes Rashford less of a goal threat.

Without De Bruyne, Silva should occupy his role like he did during the 18/19 season with penalty taker Gündogan beside him and Cancelo as right back (with the freedom to attack). I would expect these three to combine and be heavily involved in any attacking returns.

Weekly Monster – Gameweek 20 Value Option

SPURS v Liverpool

If Spurs are going to score then odds on it will be one of these two with the assist likely to come from the other. These are the perfect combination and they offer immense value after being attractively priced this week. Liverpool have dropped so many points lately that they need to win this game, which should play right into Spurs’ hands. Furthermore, Liverpool look far from solid in defence.
