IT’S TIME, ladies and gentlemen! The UFC is back with one of its Vegas shows tonight (Vegas 50) as we build up to the big PPV event on March 18th with UFC London.

The UFC really is the ultimate fighting experience, where favorites can be knocked out at any moment. We have seen it time and time again with greats such as Michael Bisping, Anderson Silva and Conor McGregor all staring up at those lights and wondering what the hell just happened.

The UFC is everything it’s advertised to be – trash talking, bright lights, bright stars and violence with great technique mixed in. All making it the greatest combat sport in the world, in my opinion – and the perfect sport to play DFS in.

UFC Vegas 50 comes from Las Vegas and is being held in the Ultimate Fighter facility. It’s a small intimate venue that’s mainly used for the training of the next crop of UFC stars.

The fight card itself features some debutants from the Dana White contender series and a light heavyweight main event of Thiago Santos vs Magomed Ankalaev.

Why not enjoy all the spectacular moments tonight by entering a few DFS lineups and experiencing the thrills of your fighter getting a first round KO.

We have One contest this week with a €3 buy in and a prizepool of €750

If you have played FanTeam UFC then you will be familiar with our universal 6 concept. For those of you who haven’t tho then it’s simple, simply pick 6 fighters within a £100M budget.

Scoring  remains the same and is again very simple. 1 point for a strike, 2 for a takedown, 5 for a reversal. A fighter that wins within the first round also gets 100 points compared to a fighter winning in round 5 who gets just 30 points.

This, however, might even itself out over the fight with the fighter winning in round 5 getting a ton of strikes and takedowns, so there’s many ways to approach this.

I don’t even hate 2 fighters from the same fight if it was to go all the way, as there’s potential for points-galore!

The highest priced fighters on tonight’s card are Magomed Ankalaev (19.5M), Song Yadong (18.5M) and Miranda Maverick (18.0M)

If you are playing a single entry or multi-entering, then you will almost certainly need to have exposure to these guys. It’s extremely difficult to play all of those guys in one lineup, so you will need to find a balance.

Here a few of my Core Plays for tonight’s UFC Vegas 50 slate on FanTeam:

Alex Pereira (17.3M)

The opening fight of the night and a middleweight dust up.Alex Pereira takes on Bruno Silva in a clash of two very different styles.Pereira is a highly talented kickboxer who is coming off a knockout debut win in the UFC last year.Silva is a ground and pound technician, but has come out and said he intends to trade with Pereira in the stand up game. A grave mistake if he does.

With Silva’s comments in the press conference and Pereira massive stand up advantage all I see is a first round knockout for Pereira. Which will give us the 100 point bonus. Pereira K.O. Is the verdict.

Damon Jackson (16.5M)

Damon Jackson takes on Kamuela Kirk in a featherweight dust up. This is the last fight of Jackson’s current UFC contract so he will want to go out on a bang or get himself another payday.

Kirk will most certainly have the stand up advantage in this fight but it’s Jackson’s grappling that intrigues me here. Kirk is poor against takedowns and has poor cardio in what we have seen to date. With this in mind I think Jackson controls the fight on the mat and gets a hard fought win in the process. Jackson by unanimous decision is the verdict.

Terrance McKinney (14.9M)

Terrance Mckinney fought just two weeks ago with a first round submission win against Fares Ziam at UFC Vegas 49. He has taken this lightweight contest against Drew Dober on short notice but I’m not put off by him.

McKinney has an excellent wrestling background and that will be key here against Dober who has a very poor takedown defense. Dober is a dangerous fighter so there’s every chance McKinney can get caught, but if he can get Dober down on the mat I only see one outcome. McKinney by submission is the verdict.

Although I will be entering multi entries in tonight’s cash games, this is one of my lineups for UFC Vegas 50 tonight on FanTeam.

As you can see, the lineup is built around my core player selections above, including one of those higher price fighters.

I hope this article has given you plenty of food for thought – especially for those of you that know very little about UFC.

UFC Vegas 50 cash contest  starts  at 21:00GMT/22:00CET, so be sure to enter your lineups early to avoid missing out.

Please feel free to message me on Twitter @JackHumphreyKM if you have any questions – all support queries should go to @FanTeamOfficial.

Best of luck to everyone entering tonight – I look forward to seeing your usernames on the Leaderboard.
