We are onto gameweek 5 of the MLS calendar and this week we just have the 3 games to look at, as  the international break causes chaos in the MLS.

The 3 games are Charlotte vs Cincinnati, Sporting Kansas City vs Real Salt Lake and Portland Timber vs Orlando City.

The main event game has buy-in of €5 with a €800 prize pool.

If you have played universal 6 on FanTeam before, the format will appear very familiar. The concept is simple. In Universal-6, you have 6 spots to fill in your lineup. You can select any player, from any position, from any team. You have a budget of 58M to work with, which may seem a lot when you review the players’ prices.

However, there is a catch . Your Captain will score 1.5x points, but will cost 1.5x his price tag. The same applies to your Vice-Captain, only this is 1.2x points multiplier with a 1.2x price increase. This means that unfortunately, you can’t fit in all of the top priced assets. There has to be some balance throughout your team.

Charlotte vs Cincinnati (Saturday 9pm GMT)

Charlotte recorded their first win of the season vs New England Revolution who had just come off a midweek CONCACAF victory and rested a few players last week. However, don’t take nothing away from Charlotte, it was a good win. Cincinnati also recorded a win last weekend with a 3-1 victory over Inter Miami. I fancy both teams to score in this game with Charlotte’s Karol Swiderski ( 10.7 M ) scoring 2 last week likely to get on the scoresheet again, he will be up against Brandon Vazquez ( 7.6M ) who also got himself 2 last weekend so expect both to add to those stats.

Sporting Kansas City vs Real Salt Lake (Saturday 11pm GMT)

Sporting haven’t had a great start to the season and will be up against it again this week with in-form Real Salt Lake coming to town. However this will be sportings second home game of the season, their only victory this season coming in the first. Real Salt lake are unbeaten so far this season and have a decent record vs Sporting in recent games. Again I expect both teams to score here. Sporting will need Nikola Vujnovic ( 10.5M ) to have his shooting boots on if they want to get another victory on the board whilst Real Salt Lake have Bobby Wood ( 6.5M ) who will be looking to add to his 2 goal tally so far this season.

Portland Timbers vs Orlando City (Sunday 9pm GMT)

Portland have started with 1 win, 2 draws and a defeat whilst Orlando have 2 wins, a draw and a defeat. Orlando are coming off an unexpected victory vs LA Galaxy last week but Portland fell to a heavy defeat at the hands of FC Dallas. Portland however have not lost at home to Orlando

since 2015 and will be hoping that continues. Portland will need their midfield maestro Yimmi

Chara ( 10.3M ) to help them try to get back to winning ways. Orlando on the other hand will be

hoping Ercan Kara ( 7.1M ) can find the scoresheet without having Facundo Torres available

due being called up to international duty.

I will be entering this lineup, along with several other line ups, so I’m not giving my entire strategy and team reveals away – but hopefully I’ve given you enough food for thought….

MLS Main event  cash contests  start at 21.00pm GMT, so be sure to enter your lineups early to avoid missing out.
