UFC EXPERT JACK HUMPHREY BRINGS US HIS PICKS AND TEAM REVEAL FOR UFC VEGAS 51
IT’S TIME, ladies and gentlemen! The UFC returns to its performance center for UFC Vegas 51 and is headlined by Vicente Luque VS Belal Muhammad in a showdown of fan favourites.
The UFC really is the ultimate fighting experience, where favorites can be knocked out at any moment. We have seen it time and time again with greats such as Michael Bisping, Anderson Silva and Conor McGregor all staring up at those lights and wondering what the hell just happened.
The UFC is everything it’s advertised to be – trash talking, bright lights, bright stars and violence with great technique mixed in. All making it the greatest combat sport in the world, in my opinion – and the perfect sport to play DFS in.
THE CONTEST
Why not enjoy all the spectacular moments tonight by entering a few DFS lineups and experiencing the thrills of your fighter getting a first round KO.
We have a €5 buy in and a prize pool of €1000 for this contest.
If you have played FanTeam UFC then you will be familiar with our universal 6 concept. For those of you who haven’t tho then it’s simple, simply pick 6 fighters within a £110M budget.
Scoring remains the same and is again very simple. 1 point for a strike, 2 for a takedown, 5 for a reversal. A fighter that wins within the first round also gets 100 points compared to a fighter winning in round 5 who gets just 30 points.
This, however, might even itself out over the fight with the fighter winning in round 5 getting a ton of strikes and takedowns, so there’s many ways to approach this.
I don’t even hate 2 fighters from the same fight if it was to go all the way, as there’s potential for points-galore!
MY FIGHTER PICKS
The highest priced fighters on tonight’s card are Vicente Luque (19.5M), Pannie Kianzad(18.6M) and Drakkar Klose (18.5M).
If you are playing a single entry or multi-entering, then you will almost certainly need to have exposure to these guys. It’s extremely difficult to play all of those guys in one lineup, so you will need to find a balance.
Here a few of my Core Plays for tonight’s UFC Vegas 51 slate on FanTeam:
PATRICK SABATINI (18.1M)
Patrick Sabatini takes on T.J. Laramie in a featherweight dust up at UFC Vegas 51.
Sabatini’s UFC career is surging with 5 straight wins in his professional career, 3 in the UFC. He is by far a superior grappler to Laramie and will look for takedowns early in this fight. His striking ability is a working progress but there has been signs recently of it improving.
Laramie was choked out last time and I only see a repeat here so with that in mind Sabatini via submission is the verdict.
MIGUEL BAEZA (17.2M)
Miguel Baeza takes on Andre Fialho in a welterweight dust up at UFC Vegas 51.
Baeza is coming into this fight of two shocking defeats in which he was favored, however this is the perfect get right fight for him. His opponent Fialho is very one dimensional and offers very little as a striker. Baeza is an aggressive fighter with solid striking game and a decent grappler in his own right.
With this in mind Baeza via stoppage is my verdict.
WILLIAM KNIGHT (15.1M)
William Knight takes on Devin Clark in a heavyweight dust up at UFC Vegas 51.
Knight was made for the heavyweight division with his wild free slinging antics, so its best for his career that he has moved up to this division. His opponent Devin Clark is not much of a finisher and himself has moved up weight class. This should allow Knight to be as wild as he likes and make for a great underdog play.
With all this in mind Knight via knockout is my verdict.
TEAM REVEAL
Although I will be entering multi entries in Saturday’s cash games, this is one of my lineups for UFC Vegas 51 on FanTeam.
As you can see, the lineup is built around my player selections above.
I hope this article has given you plenty of food for thought – especially for those of you that know very little about UFC, but are playing in Saturday’s Main Event contest.
UFC Vegas 51 cash contests start at 22.30BST 23.30CET, so be sure to enter your lineups early to avoid missing out.
