WEATHER CAUSES HAVOC AS JASON DAY REMAINS IN FRONT
The weather bit back at TPC Potomac on day 2. A constant dose of heavy rain and wind gusts caused havoc as players struggled to overcome the soggy conditions. Jason Day carded a second round 67 to remain out in front as he searches for his first PGA title win in 4 years.
Max Homa is Day’s nearest challenger after the American carded a 66 to remain 3 shots behind. Pre tournament favourite Rory McIlroy had a cut sweat of his own having to make a 5 foot putt to save par on 18 to play the weekend, so he will be hoping once again to go low and propel himself up the leaderboard on Saturday.
The Wells Fargo leaderboard remains tightly packed going into round 3, so we should be in for another exciting day of golfing action.

ROUND 2 STATS
STROKES GAINED ON APPROACH
TPC Potomac is definitely a middle to long iron course, with Over two thirds of all approach shots coming from over 150 yards out. The small greens caused havoc for the golfers so approach has to be on point.
- Jason Day
- Luke Donald
- Kurt Kitayama
- Jhonattan Vegas
- Luke List
STROKES GAINED OFF THE TEE
The rough is a real problem around this golf course so accuracy is key. TPC Potomac ranked 2nd out of 37 PGA Tour golf courses in average difference of score from rough locations drives vs. drives in the fairway. This confirms the importance of driving accuracy.
- Matt Fitzpatrick
- Ben Martin
- Tony Finau
- Martin Laird
- Tyrell Hatton
STROKES GAINED AROUND THE GREEN
Short games certainly matter around TPC Potomac. Players missed greens frequently in round one and with this course possessing the 5th hardest bunkers on Tour the golfers will most certainly have to be hot with their short game to compete.
- Stephen Jager
- Henrik Norlander
- J.T. Poston
- Cameron Young
- Matt Kuchar
WEATHER
The rain is set to continue all day again today with light gusts all day. It does ease into the afternoon so it might be worth factoring this into your lineups for round 3.
