3 WAY LEAD WITH STAR NAMES MISSING OUT. DAY 3 OF THE AT&T BYRON NELSON AWAITS US
Overnight leader Sebastian Munoz has been caught on day 2 as many star names miss the cut. The Columbian has been joined at the top of the leaderboard by Ryan Palmer and David Skinns all at 15 under par.
Palmer put together the round of the day a 10 under 62 with utter dominance on the par 5’s. Further down the leaderboard are former major winners in Jordan Spieth and Dustin Johnson who will be looking to go low over the weekend in preparation for next week’s PGA Championship.
Some big names are already heading up to the PGA Championship after missing the cut here. Both Sam Burns and Will Zalatoris who was heavily favoured have missed the number by 1 shot and will now prepare for next week’s 2nd major.
This tournament has always been low scoring so if golfers are not making birdies/eagles then they are going to find it tough going. Unless the wind gets up 59 is in real play this week so an exciting weekend of golf awaits us.
FanTeam have created a Day 3 AT&T Byron Nelson contest for us to enjoy. €2 buy-in with €500 prize pool. Contests start 14th May, 15.20pm BST 16.20pm CET
Day 3 satellite contests are running side by side with the regular contest and users can enter for €3 and be in with a chance of winning tickets to the PGA Championship monster contest next week!
ROUND 2 STATS
STROKES GAINED ON APPROACH
A big chunk of shots from yesterday come from over 180 yards and with the birdie fest we saw the players this week will have to be dialed in with the irons as they look to stick it in close if they are going to score this week
- James Hahn
- Scott Gutschewski
- Hdeki Matsuyama
- Rory Sabbatini
- Joohyung Kim
STROKES GAINED OFF THE TEE
TPC Craig Ranch features massive fairways so while it’s hard to get in trouble off the tee around this place you can certainly gain an advantage by being long. With it being a low scoring week golfers will need to take advantage of the par 5’s so gaining strokes from the tee is a real advantage.
- Jason Kokrak
- Jhonattan Vegas
- Paul Barjon
- James Hahn
- Matthew NeSmith
STROKES GAINED PUTTING
This is a stat that I don’t tend to look at as it can be very hit or miss, however this tournament has turned into the putting contest I expected. With this in mind I have a fairly heavy weight on Bent-grass putting. Not because putting is difficult here, but because you need to putt really well to have any shot of winning.
- Seamus Power
- Beau Hossler
- Sebastian Munoz
- David Skinns
- Michael Thompson
WEATHER
Another glorious day at TPC Craig Ranch awaits us! The perfect scoring conditions again as the leaders look to edge closer to the 20 under number.
