FANTEAM FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE GAMEWEEK 38 – 2 FIXTURE PREVIEW

GAMEWEEK 38 PREMIER LEAGUE €100K FINALE.

It’s finally here – gameweek 38  and after a long season FanTeam has put on a mouthwatering contest with a €100,000 prize pool and with €10k to first place you are certainly going to need to find those hidden gems.

This is the next in a series of articles in which we will preview two of the Gameweek 38 fixtures with some hints and tips in helping you narrow down your player pool, so without further ado let’s get into it.

CHELSEA VS WATFORD

Kick Off 16.00BST

In essence a dead rubber here with both clubs having nothing to play for apart from the three points on offer. Let’s start with Chelsea who locked up third spot on Thursday thanks to a 1-1 draw with Leicester City. Only a 20 goal swing would stop the out of sorts Blues taking third place and automatic entry into next year’s champions league now. For Watford only extra money is available as they prepare for a season in the championship, a win against Chelsea here could see the Hornets gain an extra £2.2 million but with a 8 game winless streak they may have to rely on results elsewhere.

The Blues have now won just once in their last 5 premier league games and seem hard to trust defensively. Mason Mount (13.9M) looks to be the best option, with 11 goals this season and 12 assists with a goal against Leeds last time out.

Others to consider if you fancy the Chelsea clean sheet Reece James (12.0M) and Marcos Alonso (11.5M) who both combined for the Chelsea goal against Leicester.

Watford are clearly preparing for life in the Championship at this point and they don’t inspire me for fantasy purposes. Nonetheless they do present  differential plays so here’s a few to consider.

Joao Pedro (5.7M) The Brazilian scored last time out and deputies in attack once again for the Hornets. If the Hornets can do the unthinkable and keep a clean sheet then Ben Foster (5.3M) presents great value and even if they can’t keep the clean sheet then the stopper should see enough shots to boost his fantasy value.

Summing up this game I can see a few goals with Chelsea taking all 3 points. Chelsea 3-1 is my prediction.

ARSENAL VS EVERTON

Kick Off 16.00BST

A game in which it’s all on the line for Arsenal. The Gunners have to win here and hope that Norwich can do them a favour if they want to be playing Champions league football next year. The Toffees meanwhile head to the capital knowing that the pressure from relegation is off after coming back to beat Crystal Palace on Thursday night to secure premier league football for another year.

Arsenal have been poor defensively and haven’t kept a clean sheet in their last 9 matches so it will be their attacking options that I look to for fantasy. Bukayo Saka (12.6M) remains my favourite Arsenal option, with 11 goals to his name on the season and 8 assists the Englishman has really stepped up his game.

Others to consider for the Gunners Eddie Nketiah (11.0M) who netted twice against Leeds in GW36 and Gabriel Martinelli (11.6M)

Everton have flirted with the drop for most of 2022 but they secured premiership survival last time out and have been in good scoring form as of late with 7 goals in 4 games. Richarlison (7.6M) has been at the forefront with 2 goals and an assist in that time and presents tremendous value against a shaky Arsenal defense.

Others to consider for the Toffees are Dominc Calvert – Lewin (7.4M) who also has 2 goals in his last 2 games and he might want to put on a show for the home crowd with Arsenal looking for his signature in the off season.

Summing up this game I can see Arsenal nicking it. Arsenal 2-1 is my prediction.

SPORTSBOOK BETS

After finalizing your fantasy lineups why not head over to the sportsbook where there are a host of betting options and why not have a little flutter based on your fantasy teams

The one thing I fancy across these games is goals with all 4 sides shaky at the back. With this in mind I have combined the Chelsea vs Watford game over 2.5 goals with Arsenal vs Everton over 1.5 goals.

Both combined gets odds of 1.80 and a £20 bet would return £36.00 should it land.
