The great thing about FanTeam as a platform is I can play daily fantasy contests, and player matchups and make my sportsbook bets all in the same place.

FanTeam Champions League Final contests are played under the very unique pursuit mode, but what is pursuit mode?

Pursuit is a unique format in which players are essentially handicapped according to how good of a performance we would expect from them. Instead of being limited by a predefined budget users can pick players by bonus points as well as a captain who will score double bonus points and a vice-captain who will score 1.5 bonus points.

Bonus points are awarded at the start of a contest. Low expectation players will have a higher starting point whereas high expectation players will have a lower starting point. Pursuit allows the user to start the tournament in the lead, or choose to start behind the eight ball.

More details on pursuit mode can be found by CLICKING HERE or in the rules section inside the game lobby.

Safety Net is enabled for this contest meaning all non-starting players will be replaced at the beginning of their match. Note this is only if there is a player from the same club, in the same position with an equal or cheaper price.

Standard FanTeam scoring applies.

Liverpool and Real Madrid renew hostilities in the Champions League again and for the second time in 5 years in the final. Last time out in Kyiv Real run out winners by 3-1 after Gareth Bale scored a wonder goal and Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius produced 2 howlers that gifted Los Blancos the cup.

The two teams are of course very different now from the ones that played it out in Kyiv and Real Madrid even has a different coach in Carlo Ancellotti who will be going for his 4th champions league trophy here in Paris. For the Reds, they changed goalies after that night in Kyiv and they will be hoping that star man Mo Salah can stay on the field this time after suffering an injury in that 2018 final. For Los Blancos, the 2018 man of the match Gareth Bale looks far from the player he once was and they are of course without the inspirational Ramos and Ronaldo this time out.

The Two teams have gone down 2 very different routes to get here to Paris. The Reds have lost just one Champions League game which came at the hands of Inter Milan in the San Siro while Los Blancos have lost 4 games including a shock defeat to Sheriff in the group stage.

The Reds have been impressive all year and having already secured the domestic cup double will want to add the European Cup to the collection after just missing out on the EPL title on the final day of the season. Liverpool has scored an impressive 30 goals in this year’s competition but like Madrid have only kept 4 clean sheets. They suffered an almighty scare to Villarreal in the semi-final second leg after going 2-0 down but managed to pull off the comeback and win that game 3-2 sending them through to tonight’s final 5-2 on aggregate.

Real Madrid scored an impressive 26 goals on route to the final but have just kept 4 clean sheets. Los Blancos have ridden their luck through the knockout stage to this final including a comeback of all comebacks in the semi-final against Manchester City where they looked done for until Rodrygo somehow scored 2 goals that sent the Spanish club into tonight’s final.

One thing is for sure tonight’s final should be very different from Kyiv but I am expecting one thing and that is goals!

LIVERPOOL – Becker Alisson, Trent Alexander Arnold, Andy Robertson, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Luiz Diaz, Diego Jota, and Roberto Firmino

REAL MADRID – Thibait Courtois, David Alaba, Daniel Carvajal, Junior Vinicius, Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Karim Benzema.

Liverpool is a slight favorite tonight and most of their players will start on minus points as a result. If you want to talk yourself into the clean sheet from the Reds then Allison is certainly an option. I however fancy goals so I only have interest in Trent and Robertson defensively from the Reds, just because of what they offer going forward. Salah and Mane are almost locked for me tonight just because of the goals they have already scored in this year’s competition. Mane has 5 and Salah who will be out for revenge following that 2018 final has 8. I will be mixing and matching the rest of the Liverpool attacking options around Mane and Salah tonight.

With this in mind and the way, I like to build pursuit teams this is my favorite Liverpool lineup tonight.

Real Madrid’s goalkeeping and defensive assets will start on plus points for this contest with only Vinicius and Benzema starting on minus points. Real Madrid is very hard to trust defensively in this competition having kept just 4 clean sheets. Nonetheless, Courtois’s goal should be bombarded with shots in this game so he does present fantasy value with shot saves. Midfielder Junior Vinicius is a juicy option with 3 goals and 6 assists in this competition. Then it’s the in-form Karim Benzema up top who has 13 goals in this competition and who could take over Christiano Ronaldo’s most goals scored in a champions league season record tonight.

With this in mind and the way, I like to build pursuit teams this is my favorite Real Madrid lineup tonight.

This is an extremely hard game to predict and good luck to both defenses tonight keeping the likes of Salah, Benzema, Mane, and Vinicius quiet tonight. With this in mind, all I see are goals in this game.

With this in mind, over 2.5 goals are my favorite bet at 17/23

A £20 bet would return £34.80 should it land.
